It was March 6th and only a few days after I returned to Warsaw from the United States where I had undergone quarterly tests and treatments for my blood cancer. My health condition started to deteriorate with a small but deep cough that my suppressed immune system couldn’t handle, and ended up that dark, gloomy Saturday morning in March, with me having a full-blown case of pneumonia that almost took my life.
I only tell you this story by way of personally introducing you to our Foundation’s new member company Medicover. You see, it was Medicover that came to my rescue, and it is Medicover that continues to coordinate with my US Doctors, and monitors my condition with weekly blood draws, doctor’s visits and friendly specialized care.
My story continues...
After being ignored for a couple of hours while waiting for a chest x-ray in the over-crowded reception room of the Warsaw Medical Academy Hospital, we left and called Medicover’s 24-hour emergency number for help. Medicover’s English speaking Dr. Cezary Golawski was in our home within an hour, evaluated my condition, diagnosed my pneumonia, and arranged for me to be admitted to a new private room with a private bath in the Minister’s Hospital in the Mokotowska District of Warsaw. Unfortunately, the brand new Medicover Hospital in Wilanów was not quite ready when all this happened. (See below)
Much to our delight, a very professional, English Speaking Medicover nurse was waiting for us at the hospital and made all arrangements for a chest x-ray, blood tests, oxygen supply and admission without delay. A Medicover nurse attended to my needs on a daily basis. I guess you can tell that I am a very satisfied patient and am ecstatic about welcoming Medicover to our Foundation.
