We are proud to announce that the newest member of the Foundation for Corporate Social Responsibility is the second largest tea bag brand in the world, Tetley Tea.  Tetley is the brand leader in both the UK and Canada, and is a well established major brand within both the USA and Australian tea markets.  Tetley holds brand leadership or significant shares within a number of other world tea markets including France, Russia, and most recently, the Republic of Poland.

Tetley Polska was first formed in 1994 and began selling tea in the coastal cities of Gdynia, Gdańsk and Sopot.   The company started by introducing black teas, and was one of the first brands in Poland to introduce Earl Grey teas.  Today Tetley is the No.1 brand of Earl Grey teas with a 40% share of that market segment, and is also the 3rd best known brand of tea on the Polish market.  The company has expanded greatly in Poland over the past 11 years, and now offers a wide range of tea products including various fruit and green teas. 
 
At the beginning of the 19th Century, nearly 150 years after Thomas Garway first brought tea to Britain, brothers Joseph and Edward Tetley began to "peddle" salt from the back of a pack horse on the Yorkshire Moors.  In time they added tea to their supplies and with the proceeds of these ventures, plus profits from investment in railways, the brothers established themselves as tea merchants.  In 1856, having earlier established Tetley Brothers in Huddersfield, the brothers moved to 25 Cullum Street, London, yards from Mincing Lane, then the center of the world tea trade. But the brothers had personal problems and they parted ways. Joseph went into partnership with Joseph Ackland, and "Joseph Tetley & Company, Wholesale Tea Dealers" was formed.  As the man said, “the rest is history…” 
 
Tetley Polska is composed of a professional team of ten people under the leadership of its new General Manager, Mr. Sandeep Das. The team is committed to expanding its business in Poland, as well as acting in an ethical and socially responsible way.  Sandeep Das stated that, “The Company has been involved in various charitable activities, and has donated products and money to orphanages for many years.  It is a great pleasure for Tetley Polska to now join the Foundation for Corporate Social Responsibility.”
