The following announcement has been submitted by the Lockheed Martin Warsaw Office for possible inclusion in the next edition of the Lockheed Martin Regional Compass Magazine, and we felt that we couldn’t have said it better.
“Warsaw, Poland - Lockheed Martin Global Incorporated (LMGI) - Warsaw has joined with other prominent businesses in Poland as a member of the Warsaw-based Foundation for Corporate Social Responsibility. The Foundation’s mission is to encourage corporations to be socially responsible and it assists them in achieving commercial success in ways that respect ethical values, people in need, their communities and the environment.
Donald Bohler, Vice President of LMGI in Warsaw said, "We are happy to join our corporation’s financial and intellectual capital with other outstanding businesses to create unified campaigns to meet social needs. We are especially delighted to join with other Foundation members in supporting the daily hot meal program for over 1000 needy children." Bill Chasey, one of the founders and now president of the Foundation said, "We are very pleased to have Lockheed Martin join the ranks of our Foundation’s businesses, alongside other important American companies like McDonald’s, Kodak, Marriott, Holiday Inn, Colgate-Palmolive, and Procter & Gamble. Lockheed Martin, the world’s largest defense contractor and F-16 fighter aircraft partner with Poland, is well known as an extremely ethical corporation dedicated to social outreach. We are pleased that they have chosen to join with us." Although the Foundation for Corporate Social Responsibility has been active for a little over a year, it has already attracted the membership of 50 top, international and Polish companies doing business on the Polish market.
Headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, Lockheed Martin employs about 130,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, and integration of advanced technology systems, products and services. The corporation reported 2003 sales of $31.8 billion and a backlog of $76.9 billion.
We welcome Lockheed Martin Global Incorporated to our Foundation. We are proud to award you our Gold Seal of Approval as a Socially Responsible Company.
