It was our honor to present Ford’s Managing Director for Poland, Adam Kolodziejczyk, with our Foundation’s Gold Seal of Approval as a Socially Responsible Company at our Foundation’s Christmas Party Thursday evening.  Ford will be working on a special promotion next year that we trust will further our cause of feeding some of Poland’s most needy children.  Adam Kolodziejczyk is one of those Charles Dickens people who “will honor Christmas in his heart, and try to keep it all the year.”
 
During the presentation, I publicly thanked Adam and his Ford staff for helping make it possible for Athlon Car Lease to provide a no-payment car lease for a new 9-passenger Ford Traffic to the Foundation.  Ford will continue to assist Athlon Car Lease and the Foundation by providing all maintenance, and service for our new Ford Traffic free of charge over the next three-years.  (See Athlon story below)

Ford Motor Company is an American multinational corporation and the world’s fourth largest automaker based on worldwide vehicle sales. Based in Dearborn, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit, the automaker was founded by Henry Ford, and incorporated in June 16, 1903. Ford now encompasses many global brands, including Lincoln and Mercury of the US and Volvo of Sweden. Ford also owns a one-third controlling interest in Mazda. 
 
Ford was launched in a converted factory in 1903 with $28,000 in cash from twelve investors, most notably John and Horace Dodge, who would later found the Dodge Brothers Motor Vehicle Company. Henry Ford was 40 years old when he founded the Ford Motor Company, which would go on to become one of the largest companies in the world.  One of the largest family-controlled companies in the world, the Ford Motor Company has been in continuous family control for over 100 years.
