Central European Distribution Corporation (CEDC) is a leading importer, distributor and producer of alcoholic beverages in Poland, and we are delighted to have them join our ever-growing list of Socially Responsible Companies. Through its subsidiaries, CEDC distributes over 700 brands of alcoholic beverages including domestic and imported vodkas, imported spirits, imported wines and domestic and imported beers.
The CEDC network consists of 14 distribution centers, 88 branches and a fleet of 400 trucks providing next day nationwide delivery service to clients. CEDC is also a major producer of vodka in Poland following its purchase of Bols Sp.zo.o and the acquisition of 61% of the shares in Polmos Bialystok in 2005. The production brand portfolio includes Bols, Soplica, Absolwent and Zubrowka vodkas.
The company was founded in 1990 and became a publicly traded company on NASDAQ in 1998, where it trades under the symbol “CEDC.” With its recent acquisitions, the company has grown to approximately 2,000 employees who have joined the company and have embraced the CEDC commitment to excellence. As a result of successfully continuing to reach our company goals, 2004 and 2005 were great years for CEDC. As CECD looks forward to opportunities in 2006, they will continue to strategically pursue identified opportunities in distribution and production that they believe will insure the long-term success of the company, and enable them to continue delivering strong financial results and superior stockholder value. President, Chairman and CEO Bill Carey, recently wrote to us, "We are extremely pleased to take part in this fantastic organization to help the under-privileged in Poland. We have seen this organization go from a dream a few years ago to one of the most successful foundations in Poland today, and we are proud to support social responsibility." CEDC may now display our Foundation’s Gold Seal of Approval as a Socially Responsible Company. |
