We are delighted to welcome one of the world’s most recognizable premium brands to the Foundation, and bestow our Foundation’s Gold Seal of Approval upon BMW Polska. BMW has developed a major presence in Poland in a short period of time, and the BMW brand has become synonymous with quality here as it has throughout the world. BMW Polska Sp. z o. o. began operations on the Polish market as the official agency of the BMW Group on 1 January 2003. The BMW Group is a Munich corporation offering three premium brands on world markets: BMW, MINI and Rolls Royce. The company was founded to coincide with Poland’s accession to the European Union, and with the expected rapid growth of the automobile market and predicted general economic growth in the region. The dealership network, which is being continuously expanded and improved, now consists of 17 dealerships in 17of Poland’s largest cities. The sales of new vehicles, parts and accessories, are conducted exclusively by a network of dealers authorized by BMW Polska. A modern and spacious warehouse in Ożarów near Warsaw supplies dealers throughout Poland. The warehouse has a surface area of 2000 square metres, and contains 11,000 different parts for all types of BMW cars, motorcycles and MINI cars. The warehouse in Ożarów is supplied from the central BMW AG warehouse in Dingolfing (120 km east of Munich). Parts are delivered from Germany to Poland and from the warehouse to the dealers on a continuous basis, with over 90% of the dealer’s orders being delivered within 24 hours. BMW Polska offers its customers very attractive leasing and financing services, including a sales program for institutional customers. This very attractive program significantly lowers the operating cost of vehicles, making BMW products even more attractive.
From its very beginnings on the Polish market, BMW Polska has been involved in social responsibility projects. In 2006 BMW Polska began sponsoring an educational program for primary and secondary schools in connection with the exhibition “Troy, Heinrich Schliemann’s dream,” which was presented at the National Archaeological Museum in Warsaw. In April 2006, BMW Polska in cooperation with the Warsaw University of Technology, presented the University with four BMW motors for educational purposes. These motors are regarded as the world’s most modern power units. BMW Polska also supports the Awangarda Foundation, which attempts to activate and integrate disabled persons in Poland through active promotion of art and crafts. Erich Papke , President of the BMW Group in Poland stated that, “he and his BMW team are proud to begin working with the Foundation for Corporate Social Responsibility in helping make life in Poland better for so many needy children.” |
