It is with great pleasure that we announce that Bank BPH, Poland’s third largest bank has become a member of the Foundation for Corporate Social Responsibility.  Bank BPH is well known for its vast social commitment to the community.  Bank BPH has been honored to receive, as one of a few distinguished companies, the Warsaw Stock Exchange’s 2004 “Trustworthy Public Company” Award based on its corporate governance ranking.

Bank BPH is a leading universal bank with a nation-wide presence through 470 outlets. It was established as a result of the merger between Bank Przemysłowo-Handlowy SA based in Krakow and Powszechny Bank Kredytowy SA in Warsaw, two commercial banks spun off from the National Bank of Poland in 1989.  Being part of a large European financial group, Bank BPH acts in compliance with the HVB/BA-CA Group Code of Conduct, and with Polish standards, such as: "Best practices in Public Companies," and the Banking Ethical Code.  With total assets exceeding € 12 bn, Bank BPH employs more than 9,000 persons. Its market shares are more than 10 per cent in core banking products, and 19 per cent in retail mortgage lending. Bank BPH is listed both on the Warsaw and London Stock Exchanges.

Bank BPH is proud to obey the principles of corporate governance.   Bank BPH strives to project its reputation as a socially responsible institution in all of its activities, including customer service, relationships with shareholders, human resources policies as well as support for local communities and development of the Polish economy.  The most visible result of such an approach is seen in the Bank’s sponsorships in the fields of culture, education and health care.  Bank BPH proudly supports 11 Philharmonic Orchestras throughout Poland.  It supports the National Philharmonic, the Grand Theater – the National Opera in Warsaw, the Opera in Kracow, the Royal Castle in Warsaw, the Wawel Royal Castle in Kracow, the National Museum, and numerous other cultural institutions and cultural events.

Every year Bank BPH helps almost 100 charitable and social institutions, hospitals, schools and orphanages.   The Bank also encourages its staff to actively engage in charity activities, including such campaigns as: "Drop of Life" (blood donations), and the "Gift of Heart” (fund raising for sick children). In addition Bank BPH has issued a series of affinity credit cards to benefit numerous social institutions and charities.

The Foundation is very proud to be associated with Bank BPH.  From this day forward, we will do all of our banking activities at Bank BPH, and we hope that our members who are looking for a Socially Responsible Bank will do the same.  We are delighted to announce that our new bank account number is as follows:
